Meet Morgan Lee

Author. Disciple. Creator

  • How old are you?
I am 29 years young as of May 2019. If you're good at math, you'll see that I will be 30 next year.
  • Can you tell us about your husband?
Sure! My husband's name is Johnny and we met at our job back in 2014. It wasn't love at first sight, at least on my end, but I love him now and that's all that matters!
  • Do you have any pets?
Historically, I have had bad luck with pets, but I have had my dog Simba for the last eight months. He is a German Sheperd and Labrador mix. He's very whiny, but I was very whiny as a child so I think it's some sort of cosmic revenge.
  • Where were you born?
I was born in raised in Kansas City, Kansas. There's also a Kansas City, Missouri, but don't get it confused. It's really just like one big city across two states, but some people cling to that state line.
  • When did you first start writing?
I started writing fiction when I was 6 years old.
  • Why do you write in so many genres?
Easy. I'm indecisive and easily bored. I need variety and challenges.
  • When will your book be released?
Soon. But seriously, book one of the Seedlings Trilogy is set to release in March or April of 2020. Books two and three will follow in the six months following the release of the first.
  • What is your book about?
You can find out all the information about my books on my Books page. Each book has it's own unique page.
  • What are your professional qualifications for editing, cover design, and formatting?"
I have a creative writing degree from Kansas State University and have been creating stories since I was six years old. Professional experience tallies to a little over eight years. Educational/practical experiences tallies to over twenty-three years. Crafting stories and making them amazing is what I do. It's all I've ever wanted to do. Over the last few years I have been taking courses on cover design, editing, and formatting so that I can hone my skills. You can look around my website under the services tab for testimonials of my work from past clients. I also spend a lot of time formatting and editing my own books so you can be sure that I will put in the same amount of effort, if not more, into making your book the very best it can be.
  • Can I use the cover you create to publish my book?
Absolutely! I am still in the learning/beginning stages of learning graphic and cover design. The covers I create for my clients are really a labor of love (and very good practice) so they are free for you to use in any area that you see fit. However, as per the contract we signed when we began working on you project, if you use the cover for commercial purposes Blood Soaked Pages L.L.C. must be credited as the cover designer.
  • Why is your cover design free?
The free cover designing is a limited time offer while I hone my skills and learn more about graphic design. While I have been writing and editing my entire life, I am brand new to the craft of designing. You get to benefit while I learn what I'm doing.
  • Why did you start a publishing company?
I started a publishing company for a multitude of reasons. Reason number one, I like control. Reason number two; I have a specific message to convey and traditional publishers would only want to censor me. Reason number three; I think a lot of people's unique voices aren't being heard in this world and I want to give a platform they will be able to do so freely.
  • Do I have to be a Christian to be published with your company, Blood Soaked Pages L.L.C.?"
Not at all. I am a Christian. My company is a Christian company, but our goal is to give a voice to the voiceless and spread truth, faith, hope, and love. When I say truth, I don't simply mean the truth of the gospel, I mean anything that is true that the world may try to hide or brush over. For example, rape is wrong. I think that is a truth that we all can agree on. If your work shines light on a sticky or un-talked about subject that needs to be talked about, if you have something to say an no platform to say it, if you feel like you aren't being heard, then Blood Soaked Pages L.L.C. is the creative publisher for you.
  • Is Blood Soaked Pages L.L.C. a vanity publisher?
Nope. BSP is a indie (traditional) publisher. You will never be asked for a dime to publish, market, create, or design your work. You query, we like-y, we publish, and everyone gets paid. We're indie because we are a small, independent publisher as opposed to a big name company with all the bells and whistles.
  • Does Blood Soaked Pages pay a cash advance to their authors?
While our company is still getting off of the ground, we are not able to offer our authors an advance that rivals anything given in the traditional publishing world. We value our authors and do offer a small advance to show our faith in their creation. That being said, the royalties our authors receive is much higher and more beneficial to the author in the long run.
